The purpose of the Purchaser / Inventory position is to purchase product to maintain proper stock, while interfacing with suppliers and internal staff to ensure quality service. Other duties include customer returns, quality control, and special projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchases product to maintain proper stock
  • Stock forecasting
  • Orders and receives drop shipments
  • Inputs and prints orders, invoices, quotes, and pick slips in a timely and accurate manner
  • Researches inventory discrepancies
  • Collects and enters orders for new or additional products or services
  • Develops and maintains relationships with vendors
  • Initiates Vendor Returns in a timely manner with ownership to completion
  • Receives product invoices
    • Invoice compilation and reconciliation
    • Discrepancy resolution
  • Coordinates Quarterly Inventory with appropriate staff and warehouse personnel
  • Works with all departments to meet the needs of customers
  • Works with the Warehouse Manager and staff to maintain accurate inventory
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to compile information and make decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a purchaser/buyer
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree preferred
