Accounting Manager

The purpose of the Accounting Manager is to perform all activities related to the successful management, reconciliation, record-keeping, and reporting of Company’s internal financials. Candidates should be self-motivated, versatile, effective, strategic thinking, and detail-oriented while staying organized with strong accounting management skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Accounting team to ensure regular duties are completed in a timely manner
  • Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff
  • Oversees the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk
  • Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Taxes, and Payroll
  • Prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, produce reports
  • This is a hands-on role – some functions will be solely your own, others you will perform as backup to your team
  • Provide ongoing training, guidance, evaluation, and encouragement to your team
  • Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processing
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements
  • Work closely with other departments to advise and enforce proper accounting practices for operational use
  • Field ERP software support questions and work with internal IT and external consultants to troubleshoot issues and develop new processes
  • Approve customer credits, customer credit applications, supplier payments, and employee reimbursements
  • Prepare and monitor reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting data
  • Establish appropriate priority levels for assigned tasks and meet deadlines
  • Handle confidential information
  • Special projects as assigned or self-assigned

  • Inventory experience preferred
  • Report writing skills preferred
  • SYSPRO software experience a big plus!

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting
