Accounting & Customer Service Assistant

The Accounting & Customer Service Assistant will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting department including accounts receivable, billing, and accounts payable. Responsibilities will also include assisting the Customer Service team with customer and sales related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts receivable, billing, and accounts payable
  • Processes daily deposits
  • Maintains customer accounts and replies to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Contacts customers to inquire about payment status on late accounts and maintains customer accounts
  • Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy. Distributes accounting reports as directed
  • Answers incoming Order and Customer Service calls and takes live orders in an accurate, professional and courteous manner
  • Provides product information including specifications, pricing, availability, special items, as well as other applicable alternatives
  • Gleans technical information from available sources when necessary, in order to provide the customer with complete and accurate information
  • Quality Control- Cross-checks shipped orders on assigned weekday(s)
  • Supports Sales staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year Customer Service experience required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Bookkeeping training preferred
